2012 Everglades CISMA Non-Native Fish Roundup

Safe-Capture International 16 Hour Workshop: Kissimmee, FL - September 19-20, 2012

This training program is presented over a 2 day period.  It consists of 14 hours of multimedia/ lecture/ PowerPoint/ video presentation, followed by 2 hours of "Hands On" training where participants are divided into small groups and are taught how to safely use blowguns, long range projectors, darts, human protective safety equipment, and dart associated radio-tracking devices. Birds in Open Pipes

Awareness is being raised about how birds could potentially be negatively impacted/die by becoming trapped in exposed/open pipes. Some pipes are fairly narrow in diameter such as the pvc poles we use quite regularly for research or other marking purposes in Refuges and other conservation areas. [Read More]
