Greater Everglades Student Memorial Scholarship
The Florida Chapter of The Wildlife Society, in conjunction with the Florida Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Florida Wildlife Federation, is sponsoring a scholarship for undergraduate students who will be Juniors or Seniors during the 2009-2010 academic year. This year one $2,000 scholarship will awarded. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater and be supportive of the Mission of TWS. The student also must be currently enrolled in a Florida 4-year college or university and interested in pursuing a career in wildlife ecology and/or management. Recipients will be selected on the basis of financial need, extracurricular activities, demonstrated leadership, professional potential, and the goals as stated in the student’s letter.
Application materials include:
(1) A letter from the student expressing his or her professional goals and financial need;
(2) Copies of transcripts from each college or university attended;
(3) A copy of the student’s resume;
(4) One letter of recommendation from a faculty member or wildlife professional.
To be considered for this scholarship, all application materials must be post-marked by 1 December 2009.
