Dear fellow naturalist,
Please mark your calendars for the 5th Annual DeLuca Bioblitz, taking place on Friday, March 6th, 2026, at the University of Florida’s DeLuca Preserve in Osceola County.
As with last year, the Bioblitz will run for 24 hours on March 6th, offering opportunities to explore the preserve by day and night. Registration will open in January 2026, but you can add your name to the interested parties list now to receive updates and be notified directly when registration opens: https://ufl.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_43iizXgp34vOiJU?Q_CHL=qr.
Additional details:
All levels of experience are welcome, from first-time participants to seasoned naturalists.
The event will include a short orientation, field exploration throughout the preserve in small groups, and a brief check-out session.
New this year, we are excited to announce a partnership with the Florida Chapter of The Wildlife Society to offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for professional participants.
Limited camping will be available the night before (March 5th) and the night of the Bioblitz (March 6th).
To get a sense of what to expect, you can view results from last year’s Bioblitz here: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/2025-uf-deluca-bioblitz.
We look forward to building on the success of past years and making this the most surveyed piece of land by citizen scientists in Florida!
Please see (and share!) the attached flyer and stay tuned for registration details in January.
All the best,
Corey
