From the back cover:

Have you ever wondered how manatees can end up deep in the woods? Or hot to reattach a radio collar on a bear that isn’t fully tranquilized? Perhaps you’ve wondered if swimming with alligators is a good idea. Did a bottle of Pepsi really save stranded wildlife biologists? How rare is the skink dance? Is skunk spray really that bad?

These questions, and many others, are answered in this book.

Running With The Dogs is a collection of entertaining short stories and essays written by wildlife professionals working throughout the wilds of Florida. These authors include land managers, researchers, and/or educators who sometimes find themselves involved in the unexpected!

In addition to hopefully entertaining you, the sale will help fund the Florida Chapter of The Wildlife Society (FLTWS). FLTWS was established in 1968 as a subunit of The Wildlife Society, which is the national organization headquartered in Bethesda, MD.

Like the other state chapters and sections, FLTWS is a non-profit organization composed of wildlife professionals who strive to manage, restore, educate, protect, study, etc., Florida’s wildlife and their habitats. All funds received through the sale of this book will be used to facilitate FLTWS annual operations. This includes supporting a chief operating officer position, conducting spring and fall membership meetings, offering training workshops, and supporting students seeking degrees in natural resources through a variety of scholarships.
