Environmental Coordinator

Islamorada, Village of Islands is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Environmental Coordinator with expertise in flora and fauna of South Florida and preferably the Florida Keys.  A significant part of the position will involve overseeing and completing compliance (regulatory) inspections, assess the value of biological systems, identifying potential impacts which result from construction projects of various types, and determines appropriate regulatory permit and/or regulatory action.  These evaluations are conducted in compliance with Islamorada, Village of Islands Land Development Regulations (LDR’s) and the Comprehensive Plan.  The Environmental Coordinator will also work directly with officials at higher levels on matters requiring cooperation, explanation and persuasion, as well as with the public involving the enforcement of regulations, policies and procedures.
