The Alachua County Parks and Conservation Lands Department’s Alachua County Forever
Program is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to assist with the acquisition, planning and
implementation of land management activities on natural areas acquired/managed through the
Alachua County Forever Program. The primary duties include management plan preparation,
contractor oversight, prescribed burns, exotic plant control, forestry, site development, ecological
monitoring, grant writing, development of restoration projects, evaluation of potential acquisition
sites, and supervising a small staff. Excellent knowledge of North Central Florida ecology, flora
and fauna, ArcGIS and data management are highly desired.
